Regarding Satan- The Devil (Isaiah 14:12-15)

Introduction: Satan was the “anointed cherub” until he rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. Satan now is the prince of the power of the air, he is working against every single believer because we are on God’s team and Satan hates God. One day Satan will be cast into the lake of fire and will not ever be able to come out.

Regarding Satan

  1. Satan’s Beginning– Isaiah 14:12-15
  • Satan was created by God and was a beautiful cherub that had great musical abilities.
  • Stan was called Lucifer, son of the morning.
  • Satan was lifted up with pride and sinned when he was cast out of heaven.
  1. Satan’s Work’s Include– II Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”.
  • Tempting men to Sin– Genesis 3:1-5 in this case the devil tempted Eve by having her doubt the Bible, the Word of God, “hat God said” and lie to her, “Ye shall not surely die”. Also in Gen 3:5 by tempting her with the lust of the flesh, eyes, and pride of life I John 2:16.
    • Lust of the Flesh- Sensual pleasures, food, drink, sexual, comfort, drugs, etc.
    • Lust of the Eyes- Greed, covetousness, money, possession, status symbol.
    • Pride of Life- vanity, ambition, career.

    • The Apostle Paul- II Corinthians 12:7 “there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure”.
  • Blinds Men’s Minds to the Gospel– II Corinthians 4:3-5 Satan will work extra hard to keep the lost people with a mind that is blind so they don’t see the truth of God.
    • The Devil will go after their mind by putting bad thoughts, distractions, intellect.
    • Have you been sharing the gospel and people seem uninterested, lost, don’t care, this is the reason.
  • Promoting False Teaching– II Corinthians 11:1-4
    • The Devil, with the same “subtilty” craftiness, is still trying to deceive people today through religion.
    • The Devil will corrupt the mind and get them thinking wrongly about Jesus and the gospel.
    • Another Jesus- the Jesus who is not preached by the apostles, good teacher, good moral person.
    • Another spirit- Not the Holy Spirit.
    • Another Gospel- something other than good news that adds or takes away from the finished work of Jesus Christ.
  • Devouring Men– I Peter 5:8 “The devil doesn’t have to kill, he just has to get you busy”.
    • Through Division- gets you away from the other herd of sheep then he attacks, like a lion. Discourages You- has you believe you are alone in your struggles and no one cares about you.
    • Through Pride- will get you thinking your strong and you don’t need your Bible or Prayer.
    • Through Deception- Get’s you thinking lies about other Christians in the church.
    • “The devil doesn’t have to kill you he just has to get you enslaved to sin.”
  1. Satan’s End–
