God Knows EVERYTHING About Us (John 21:17)

John 21:17 “thou knowest all things”.

Introduction: Peter here tells the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifested in flesh that He knows all thing. Do you believe that God knows everything? God knows everything about us, and there is no need to hide anything from God. In today’s message, we want to see some things that God knows about us that often times we forget about or try to hide from God. The purpose of this message is to remind us that God knows everything, and we should trust Him fully.

God knows:

1. The Secrets of the Heart– Psalm 44:21 “Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart”.(to justify in a moral sense- upright, honest, having principles of rectitude, righteous, religious, living in exact conformity to the divine will). Do you have a secret of the heart?

Luke 16:14-17 “Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts”.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings”.

Solution: We need to confess what’s in the heart and forsake it. I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. Confess it and get rid of it. Don’t loose out on the blessings that God has for you by keeping a secret sin in the heart. People may not know it, but God does.

2. The Person that is Trusting in Him– Nahum 1:7 “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him”. Are you trusting in Him? We may be able to fool someone by telling them that we are trusting in God for a certain outcome, result, situation, answer, direction, open door, etc., but if we are not doing that, God knows it is so.

God knows if you are truly trusting in Him. Let go of any doubt, fear, advantage, manipulation, pull, etc., and trust in Him completely.

Solution: We need to trust God fully. Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.

3. The Frailty of Our Body– Psalm 103:14 “For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust”. We don’t have to hide from God that we are weak, tired, hungry, sleepy, etc., He knows our physical, spiritual, and emotional, frailty. God know exactly how much we can take at work, at home, with kids, in ministry, etc. When Jesus Christ lived on this earth, He went through every thing that we will go through, He can relate.

Solution- Get into the yoke of God. Matthew 11:28-30 “Take my yoke upon you… and ye shall find res unto your souls”. (Yoke- to couple, to join with another- A piece of timber connecting two oxen together).

4.  Your Ways– Psalm 119:168 “I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee”. God know all of our ways and the ways you want to take. If you are considering taking a way that is contrary to God- consider this, it is not worth it. If you are in the way of the wicked consider turning your way after righteousness.

Solution: We need to walk uprightly and after righteousness, this way of walking will please God. Proverbs 14:2 “He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in is ways despiseth him.” Proverbs 15:9 “The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness”.

5. The Temptations of Life– II Peter 2:9 “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation” God knows the temptations that may trip us up, and He also knows how to deliver us from those temptations. Instead of figuring it out for ourselves, we should look for His direction when we see the temptation coming our way.  It’s like a corn maze, He’s the one on top and knows the way to get us out of the corn maze and into safety.

God knows our temptation by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and pride of life, etc., and He knows how to deliver us from such temptations.

Solution– Look for the way out- I Corinthians 10:13 “but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (the temptation).

6. The Condition of Your Soul– John 10:11, 14, 27-28. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish”. God is the shepherd and a saved person is referred to as “a sheep”. The point is this, God know if you are one of His and you should know if you are one of His sheep.

Solution: If you are lost and on your way to hell, you know it. Jesus Christ already died for your sins all you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name”. Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.

Conclusion: Because God knows the secrets of the heart, we have to keep it clean as often as possible. Regarding trust, we either are trusting in God or in something or someone else. God knows our body, get yoked up with God. God knows our ways, choose the right one. Temptation will come, but God will give us a way of escape. Lastly, God wants you to get saved, what are you waiting for?
